ABOUT THE GYM GIRL GANG

THE GYM IS LIFE!

...BUT LIFE ISN’T THE GYM!

There is a lot of masculine energy in the lifting world… However, I believe that lifting is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your feminine energy. Lifting Promotes being in tune with your body, and continuously working on being your best self…., both of which are highly feminine traits! I am here to break the stigma that lifting makes a woman “manly”, and am here to bring the girls who love the gym together!

I teach women how to lift with proper technique and mind/muscle connection. I am here to teach you how to train smarter and to maximize your time at the gym, so you can dedicate the rest of your time to whatever else is important to you! I’m here to help you live your best, healthiest, and happiest life!

ABOUT NATALIA

I’m currently a full-time personal trainer who’s made fitness the foundation of my life!

But it wasn’t always like that….

In mid-2017, I went through a series of unfortunate events that I had a difficult time coping with. I turned to food for comfort and gained 60lbs in less than a year.

By 2019, I definitely hit my personal rock bottom. I was at the highest weight of my life, felt lost in my career, was struggling in my relationships, and ultimately felt disconnected from reality. Simply being present in the moment seemed impossible to me.

Fortunately, everything was going to change soon. A number of small breakthroughs lead to the realization that maybe, just maybe… my life didn’t have to be this way forever. That realization led to an ultimate epiphany that took place on July 14, 2019. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was wrapping up a weekend at a cabin by a river with friends, and I had a moment where I was sitting alone by the river… I remember feeling…present. For the first time in a long, long time. And I told myself: “When you come home, everything is going to change. You’re going to the gym. You’re going to work on eating better. You’re going to just do better. And this time, you’re never going to look back.
And I never did!

Within 1 year of consistently going to the gym (mostly just cardio) and eating in a calorie deficit, I lost about 85lbs! Fitness became the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, and I knew I wanted 2 things:

  1. MORE!

  2. To give back

I fulfilled my desire for more fitness in my life by taking up weight lifting! I would spend a couple hours per day at a small gym by my home teaching myself how to lift. In hindsight, I had no clue what I was doing… but I was consistently showing up!

To give back, I decided to work on a personal training certification. I figured it would make for a good side hustle while I go to graduate school.

By the beginning of 2021, I was officially a Certified Personal Trainer & I was obsessed with lifting. I took my first personal training job in March 2021, and within 2 months, I withdrew from grad school before I even started. I had no idea it was possible to be so happy at work. Getting to work at a gym & help people work on themselves? Nothing seemed better.

Not only that, my own training improved with time! Understanding mind-muscle connection not only increased my strength & muscle gains, it made me more in tune with my own body, which has benefitted me significantly in and out of the gym!

In 2022, I started creating content for the purpose of sharing my story and my love of the gym. It’s taken time + trial & error to find my voice/audience, but day by day, I found my way! I started Gym Girl Gang in early 2024 as a way to build a community of gym-loving women!

My main purpose of sharing my story is to show women that they can overcome any challenge… that doing something amazing for yourself is never a waste of time… and that your mess can become your message. The core of fitness is self-love and self-discipline. Practicing both every single day has a powerful effect on your life!

Currently, I am based in Seattle and I work at an amazing gym in the heart of the city! Training clients irl, running GGG, and staying consistent with my own training certainly keeps me busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Life is amazing when you do what you love! If my darkest days were meant to get me to where I am now, then it was time well spent!

While I am definitely still on my personal journey and embrace learning & growing on the daily, I am so grateful to be in a position where I can share my story and serve others! If I can do it, anyone can! In sharing my story, I hope I can be a part of yours as well!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again & again: welcome to the gang. I truly feel honored to have you here.
